Transparent formulas
Each calculator identifies its main inputs and explains the assumptions that materially affect the result. Where an input is uncertain, such as the value of equity or benefits, we label it as an estimate.
Gross amounts by default
Salary calculations generally use gross compensation. We do not pretend to know a user's exact tax situation, so take-home pay is not presented as a precise result.
Numbers and judgment stay separate
Calculators can quantify salary, hours and costs. They cannot reliably score manager quality, workplace culture, career satisfaction or personal priorities. Our guides explain where human judgment remains important.
